| Whoo! |
[Aug. 7th, 2008|10:42 am] |
I may have only been awake for 45 minutes so far, but I am declaring today an awesome day. Already:
1. Lizzie, my childhood best friend who just moved back to "town" (where town is actually up north about an hour, but closer than New Mexico where she's been for about 4 years), called this morning! We caught up, we chatted, it was lovely fun. A wee bit stilted, but it's been four years. We'll get back into a groove. She may come to camp next week.
2. US iTunes has the Torchwood soundtrack for sale! In January, they said, "Adult fans don't want music, just books." In April, they said, "Oh. Okay, so we were wrong, maybe late 2009." In June, they said, "That was a typo, we meant late 2008." And now it's early August and the US has the soundtrack! The UK, oddly enough, will get it late September.
Clearly, it's downloading now. And it has Owen's Theme, yay! And 31 other lovely pieces. Although find it annoying that Ianto doesn't get a theme, when Gray and Tommy do. Perhaps he's covered under Captain Jack's Love Theme? It is just second season, it seems, but there were recurring themes, so I'm overall very pleased.
Let's hope the day keeps going so well. *g*
ETA: OMG!!!! The day keeps getting better! I just got an e-mail from UWM that the comps have changed - no more driving to Milwaukee and panicking and writing for three hours without notes. Now it's just take home! Longer and more extensive, but I feel very comfortable writing with notes and sources! What a huge and awesome change! |

| | Gamzu L'tova-Lipa Shmeltzer | ] | Got my graduation presents.
A new picture frame for my diploma and my honors certificate.
AND
A brand new laptop which is beautiful. It cost a lot, but the hugs, kisses and "we're so proud" made me feel less guilty.
I can't wait to try it out tomorrow!
I love you, Mum and Dad!
Also, was selected and sponsored to represent my college in Boston at the David Fellowship. There, I will:
- Educate high school and college students and community members to understand the Arab-Israeli conflict by providing historically accurate facts and critical thinking skills.
- Offer lectures and workshops to provide the pro-Israel community with training in the skills and strategies to effectively advocate to Israel and the Jewish people.
- Develop and provide leadership training to create capable, effective and courageous leaders for the Jewish community.
- Work with pro-Israel and pro-Jewish allies to counter anti-Israel sentiments and campaigns.
Major honor for my family and they are so proud! This is my second fellowship/academic conference this year. They are paying me to go. PLUS, I'm covering it as a member of the Press, a professional journalist so I may be able to flash my press pass. That will be so cool!
Okay, what are your dreams and goals for the next year, three years and five years? List them and list anything people can do (within reason) to help in a non-financial sense. Advice, assistance, ask away. Spread the word about man-power! With man, anything is possible!
One Year:
- Get into the best law school possible
- Finish 27-30 credits of my major
- Get published in six different newspapers (I've been in four)
- Halfway finish Jewish themed novel
- Lose some weight
Three Years:
- Have stellar resume
- Have job offer
- Finished with novel and given to the publishers
- Be engaged
- Lots of articles written
- Finish Masters
Five Years:
- Have well paying legal job

- Bring the Darn Messiah already, he's sixty years too late. I'd like my temple please, with all the trimmings, resurrection of my family, life in Israel and eternal paradise. (And being a direct relative of the future king, finally getting my due as an official JAP)
If that's not allowed...
- Create lots of new inhabitable planets so Humanity could spread out
- Cure all illness and eliminate death
- Smite many people who make the world worse like rapists, murderers, practitioners of cultural genocide and religious nutcases. Smiting builds character! Let the fear of Elle be upon you.

| | relieved | ] | Looks like the Shack's back up and running. At least I can now download my slashcity emails (though some of them might've bounced while the Shack was gone, so in case you sent me anything in the last 24 to 36 hours or so, you might want to resend, just to be on the safe side).
I just did a quick check and the website seems to be there. I haven't clicked my way through all the links, of course, but I did random look-sees and everything seems to be in order.
Sigh. Some days, the shit just hits the fan over and over again. I feel exactly like Mulder says in my icon. LOL! |
